Nella 12^ edizione dei Mondiali Universitari di triathlon, svoltisi sulla distanza olimpica a Brasilia, la vittoria è andata allo statunitense Kevin Mcdowell e all’ungherese Zsofia Kovacs. Sul podio maschile sono saliti anche il ceco Tomas Renc e l’altro statunitense Chris Braden, mentre tra le donne, seconda piazza per la britannica heather Sellars e terza per Kaitlin Donner (USA). Nessun azzurro ha partecipato alla prova.
Kevin Mcdowell: “I am amazed for my return to the competition, after a long time away from it, because of health issues. My teammates gave me all the support to be here. This victory means a lot, more than the olympic medal. This WUC medal marks my overcome in my career“.
Zsofia Kovacs: “This is my last World University Championship. I am really happy for saying good bye landing on the highest spot of the podium. This victory was won through challenged conditions, because of the exhausting heat during the race“.
