Felix Walchshöfer, Chris McCormack, Belinda Granger e Lucky the elephant celebrano la nascita del Challenge Laguna Phuket

Dopo l’annuncio del Challenge Vitoria e soprattutto del Challenge Rimini (iscrizioni a gonfie vele, aperte qui) dei giorni passati, Challenge Family aveva annunciato un terzo botto pre natalizio.

Che puntualmente è arrivato: prima del via della terza (e ultima) edizione dell’Ironman 70.3 Phuket, Felix Walchshöfer e Chris McCormack, testimonial Challenge, hanno annunciato che nel 2013 si svolgerà la prima edizione del Challenge Laguna Phuket (triathlon 113, ovvero 1.9-90-21.1k).

Insieme al Laguna Phuket Triathlon, la gara più longeva, famosa ed amata in tutta l’Asia che l’anno prossimo festeggerà la 20^ edizione, si creerà un Tri-Fest, dal 24 novembre al 1° dicembre 2013.

Macca, due volte iridato a Kona, ha sottolineato come la Challege Family, dopo Roth e Penticton, abbia inserito un altro gioiello nel suo calendario: “Challenge Roth is the oldest race in Europe, Challenge Penticton the oldest in North America and now we have Challenge Laguna Phuket, the oldest race in Asia: that speaks volumes to me about the importance Challenge Family places on the legacy of our sport. This approach echoes exactly how I feel. Our legacy is the foundation of this sport and Challenge is the organisation that has proven time and again that they respect the sport and its athletes. The partnerships we are building will ensure the sport retains its soul and provide an exciting future.”

Più che soddisfatto anche Walchshöfer, Challenge Family CEO, che ha detto che nei prossimi anni l’obiettivo di Challenge sarà di aumentare il numero dei suoi eventi in Asia.
